@dan815 Can you help?
OpenStudy (dan815):
inverse is b asically
OpenStudy (dan815):
a reverse of functions to arrive at input from output
OpenStudy (dan815):
reverse of operations*

So instead of subtract, addition, and so on..?
OpenStudy (dan815):
ok first simplify ur expression for f(X)
OpenStudy (dan815):
f(x)=5x+7-2
=5x+5
OpenStudy (dan815):
y=5x+5
OpenStudy (dan815):
lets see order of operations

PEMDAS?
OpenStudy (dan815):
you multiply x by 5 then u add by 5
OpenStudy (dan815):
revese to go back
OpenStudy (dan815):
let me give u a simple example to visualize
OpenStudy (dan815):
i told you hey dude!
i know all kinds of durty filthy magic
I hold in my hand an 1 apple
u will duplicate it to get 3 apples
then i will add 2 apples to it
and give it to you
so you have 5 apples
iif you want to know how many apples i started with you would be like okay
ill take away the 2 apples he added and divide by 3 because he duplicated by 3
so (5-2)/3=1

Okay.
OpenStudy (dan815):
do the same thing to
y=5x+5
the last thing we do to x is the first thing we do the opposite of
OpenStudy (dan815):
5*x +5
multiply by 5 and add 5
going back is
-5 and divide by 5
OpenStudy (dan815):
y=5x+5
(y-5)/5=x
OpenStudy (inowalst):
Oh okay. So (y-5)/5=x is the inverse of f(x)=5x+7-2 ?
