Will give medal!! Which of the following sentence parts describes the italicized portion of this sentence? The boardwalk in Atlantic City (itilasized) hugs the white, sandy coastline.(italisized) A. simple subject B. complete subject C. simple predicate D. complete predicate

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Aren't there 2 italicized words ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Italisized words: hugs the white, sandy coastline.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Any ideas ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um, I know the definition of simple subject and complete subject.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

You do not know what Complete and Simple predicates are ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think that it would be a simple or complete predicate, but I am not sure if it would be a simple subject or a complete subject. A simple subject is a person, place, or thing about which the sentence is written. A complete subject includes the simple subject and any words related to it.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Simple subjects and Simple predicates only count as 1 word...so those are out since their is a whole phrase that is italicised in that sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be a complete subject?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that it would because it contains a simple subject and words about the simple subject

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Hmmmm, go for it. But if it's wrong, you know what your correct answer would be. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, thanks for the help!

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Always happy to help. :)
