6. How far east did Alexander’s empire reach? How does this compare to the previous map?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a map that you need to compare? And his empire stretched as far as India; the largest empire ever in existence to date.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes their is a map im getting the link now @Lady.Liv1776

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see it. Was it the document you just posted?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Lady.Liv1776

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. I would say that the maps compare in that his battles began to take place more inland, towards the middle east. He clearly began to desire to expand his boundaries beyond Greece.

7. How did Alexander’s attempt to make his empire secure help lead to the Hellenistic Age? ...i dont think i need the map for this one @Lady.Liv1776

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz its a follow up question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alexander assigned several 'governor like' stations throughout his empire. This allowed the chance for rebel to cease to exist, because the 'governors' had to report back to Alexander. This allowed Alexander to rule his entire empire by not having to be omnipresent. This led to the Hellenistic age in that the Grecian knowledge began to spread. Because his empire was so big, works such as the Iliad, Odyssey, and works by Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, and so many more, began to spread like wildfire. We can still the effects of this by the architecture seen throughout Europe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thanks ! and the 8th one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 8th one is that simply empires grew and changed. Some land masses did change, but it was mostly the dissolving and rising of different civilizations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg thanks you are a big help! umm your gonna kill me.... i lost my work from the previous questions anddddddddddd.....you help me finish it lol im sorry

1. Describe the location of Greek homeland (including Macedonia) before 334 BCE. its the 1st map

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It looks like it was between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. It looks also like it was somewhat apart of Italy from the map.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, wait. Sorry, it wasn't apart of Italy. It consisted of the Grecian states. Which made Macedonia.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you . and .. 2. How did Alexander gain control of all of Greece?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Lady.Liv1776

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He gained control of all Greece by mainly conquering the City-States (who were already govermentally challenged at that time lol). Since he was already the Prince of Macedonia, conquering the Greece city-states were really the beginning to building his empire.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol this one? 3. By 332 BCE, which regions had fallen to Alexander’s army?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Chiko_1278 @bigboy07

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In 332, Alexander conquered Tyre, and Egypt. Egypt was a huge momentum booster for him to continue his plan of world domination.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

girll you dont know how uch your helping me 4. Why was the Battle of Gaugamela an important turning point in Alexander’s conquest of the Persian Empire?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha I'm just glad I can help! It was the final meeting of Alexander and Darius III. It was the Battle in which Alexander conquered the Persian empire. While Alexander made sure that his men had plenty of food and sleep (he overslept the day of the battle), Darius did not. His men were wiped out, and Alexander conquered Persia.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant wait to fan you and gie you a medal in all subs cuz like your a blessing rigt now im ABOUT TO GET WITHDRAWN if i dont complete this in 6 mins lol 5. After Gaugamela, what were the main Persian cities on Alexander’s route?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The main cities were Susa, Persepolis, and Sardis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, my internet is slow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

His empire reached as far east as India. It compares to the map in that you can see him moving inland, conquering the main regions and cities of the middle east known for trade and power.

Follow Up Questions 7. How did Alexanders attempt to make his empire secure help lead to the Hellenistic Age? [Write Answer Here] 8. How did the geography of the world change during the period of Alexanders rule? [Write Answer Here]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7. It helped lead to the Hellenistic age in that the Grecian knowledge traveled very fast. Since his empire was so big, Greek and Macedonian knowledge and culture traveled as far as India and as close as Europe. We can still see the effects by architecture in Europe. 8. It changed in that Civilizations rose and fell. Some gained power, and powerful empires lost power. As some land masses did change, it was more based on the dissapearance of some cultures that were once very prominent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow just wow . you saved me ! lol your a very smart girl . i cant beleive you remember all this sh*t ... wow just wow. thank you so much! :DxD @Lady.Liv1776
