MEDAL What's the difference between estar and ser? Is one now and the other future?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

they are both from the verb "to be" and ser means "you are something" while estar means "you are on something"(there is no exact definition) because you can be sad, or you can be standing on a mountain those are estar while ser is more like you want to be a firefighter those are examples and I hope that they make any sense
