Well can you to me how you did it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I don't understand graphs so honestly I guessed.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hmm really well I can help explain to you how to do it so you understand it for the next question
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes please

So you start with this Y-Y1 = M(X-X1) equation
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So the M=slope
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and do you know what the formula for slope is?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Y is 6 ??
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lets just go with the formula for slope

ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
that is M = Y2-Y1/X2-X1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So your two points are (-5,1) and (0,6)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So your formula would be M = 6 - 1/0-(-5) do you know what that equals?

-1 ???
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no positive 1 because when ever you have something minus a negative it becomes a plus so it would be +5 mean it would be 5/5 which equals 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so now we take our slope which is 5/5 and one of our points so I would choose 0,6 because it doenst have any negatives in it so it will be easier
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So our line equation will look like this Y-6 = 5/5 (X-0)

ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now we multiply by 5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so that would be 5Y-30 = 5X
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Oh whoops I am sorry I have to go right now but basically I will give you this link and yes your answer is right I have done it before :) sorry I couldnt stay to explain
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok thank you!
