WILL GIVE A MEDAL AND WILL FAN! What are the measures of four angles in standard position that have a sine of .5? PLEASE EXPLAIN TOO!!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

are you working with degrees or radians?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

degree i thinkk

OpenStudy (misty1212):

ok then one answer is \(30^\circ\) because \[\sin(30^\circ)=\frac{1}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From your trigonometric table of standard 0 to \[90\] \[\sin(30)=0.5\] So the first angle is pi/6 find the second angle using the formula \[\sin(180-x)=\sin(x)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says 4 angles i know two of them are 150 and 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the other two?????

OpenStudy (misty1212):

then keep adding 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain how you found the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mathematically

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can draw triangles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with the unit circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you familiar with the definitions of sin, cos, and tangent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lets draw a unit circle, mean that the radius is 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want me to draw it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the circle tool though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats good but lets start with just one triangle in quadrant 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

draw same thing but only 1 triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1424116513400:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1424116559390:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you label one of the sides of the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the length of it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hypotenuse is 1, since it's a unit circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
