what does no solution means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excuse my grammar...

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

If the lines are parallel then there is no solution. The solution to a system of equations is where the lines intersect, or if the lines are the same, there is an infinite number of solutions.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

There can be many soltuons, one solution or no solution.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no direct answers?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

You can't really explain this without saying it....

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

So if 2 lines intersect at one point how many solutions will it have @Sherabartlett

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true...

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And if the two lines overlap, how many solutions would it have?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And if the two lines never touch each other, then how many soltuons?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

solutions*

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Remember that there will be a solution, if the two lines intersect.

OpenStudy (academicgurusinc):

You can actually graph your equation. When you graph your equations, you'll let 2 or more lines depending on your equation. If you're lines are parallel, then there is no solution. This is because parallel lines never intersect each other. Hope that helps!
