I would like to talk to a mod.
@Ashleyisakitty @e.mccormick
Ash is offline and eric is writing something. Maybe a regular user can help. Mod's aren't that different from us. :P
oh. well.... I would like to be a mod and help more people.
*well... know if i qualify.
Well the thing is you don't just become a mod. You have to be 18 for one. Have proven to be an amazing helpful user who follows the CoC. Do you qualify for any one of those two requirement's? And even then Mod's are rarely chosen. I recommend trying to be an Ambassador first before trying to become a mod. Odd's are you will win the lottery first. :D
@sleepyjess and @confluxepic Can explain this better then I can. ;)
matbe an ambassator can help you
oops I had a glitch. I'm 22, and I try my best to follow CoC
they will need ur ID with pic
oh.
Some good users that can lead you to the right path to becoming an ambi are @mathslover , He is veteran ambi and knows more than we all do xD. @pooja195 Was an ambi before she went inactive. @sleepyjess Is going to become an ambi if she stays this awesome and helpful. :D @Compassionate ..... Don't listen to that guy. lol jk @TheSmartOne Don't listen to him either xD jk @e.mccormick Is awesome and leads by example. @Ashleyisakitty used to be an ambi and then became mod. There are so many more I didn't name. Just follow there lead and I guarantee one day you will be looked up to. Helping doesn't require you to be a mod. Im not a mod and I help tons of people. Anyone can help, its up to you whether or not you do so. ;)
@Deadpool. i thought we already went through this
no...
first time...
No it isnt you have asked this before
realy?
1) NEVER ASK TO BE MODERATOR <---very important rule 2) Be a very good HELPER 3) appeal to the public 4) have a very good sense of justice 5) you must have time for your loyal subjects 6) respect and suck up to the admins ;)
Well other than my question @perl this is my first.
Does that answer your question? :)
ahh.. yes thanks.
@pooja195 Flattery gets you no where in life..... Unless it's to @e.mccormick Who will rule the world. Then yes, it might get you some where. xD
@Joel_the_boss has put the point very nicely. Keep helping and if you get to such a level when admins will notice you and can imagine you as a mature moderator, then you will be informed about it. But, first of all, concentrate upon helping other users and increase your SS. :) Good Luck. And good work @Joel_the_boss and @pooja195
LOL its not my work but i hope i helped :)
oh.
And I think maybe you should work towards being an ambi first it can be a step closer :)
ahh...
Glad to help. :) @Deadpool. Anything else you wanna know? Feel free to ask. :D
hmm.... well.... so i've been helping other people and they have been very rude when i don't give them a straight answer.
@Deadpool. - If you see any such users who become rude to you, then just report them and move on. Good Luck.
ok...
tbh you have a better shot at becoming president then mod :/
This would be a good time to explain to them how OS functions and about it's rules. If they continue I recommend asking a mod for help or just a report and leave the question. Better?
hehehe
yes i under stand
Anymore questions we could answer? You have our attention. :)
Also, report violations when you see them. The reports go to the mods, so it does get your name seen more. In general, mods do not suggest people for becoming a mod until you have a pretty high SS. The only way to be considered for being a mod is to have a mod or admin suggest you become one. However, being one is not necessarily all that people think it is.
hmm... na thats it, thanks! \(\Huge\color{red}{T}\color{black}{H}\color{blue}{A}\color{yellow}{N}\color{green}{K}\color{gold}{S}\) and ok .
Your welcome. :)
See the thing is @deadpool. that only admins get to choose mods. Also they like to choose users who are very helpful and smart. Follow the CoC, and have been on the site for a looong time :)
How to become a Moderator: First rule: You must be 18+, due to legal issues. Second rule: You have to be, and act mature. Then you have to win the respect of this community through interaction, knowledge and the ability to interact and intervene in an appropriate manner. It is in big part based on participation, courtesy and respect. The most important thing is that you let the administrators and moderators know that you can see things going awry, and that you are willing to make some effort to solve/prevent it. And certainly NOT in a way like messaging them about how bad you want to be a moderator (this will only work contradictory), but they have to notice that you are up for the job. Then, when they decide they need more moderators, you might get asked. ◘ Being on the site for a fair amount of time. (usually more than 6 months) ◘ Be an good and active user on the site ◘ Having a squeaky clean abuse record. ◘ Have good rapport with fellow users. ◘ Having a good sense of justice. ◘ Being an expert in some field. Most of the mods are math geniuses. But any subject would suffice. ◘ Doing a great job in the ambassador program. In the ambassador training period, you'll learn how the rules work on OpenStudy and you'll learn how to make the right decisions. ◘ Hope you'll get lucky when they decide to add more moderators! ~thomaster
