PLEASE HELP. I AM LOST. I HAVE NEVER BEEN HELPED ON THIS SITE. This is my last try. Using the graph of f(x) = log2x below, approximate the value of y in the equation 22y = 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y= 2 y= 1 y= 0.47 y= 4.01

OpenStudy (anonymous):

;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please don't just give me the answer. I want to know how to do it.

OpenStudy (somy):

I like this attitude! @Kainui since math is not my field, can u please please help this person????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel helpless. It didn't teach us this in the lesson, and I have no idea how to do it. I can't find help anywhere and I won't be able to talk to my teacher until tomorrow. I hate being stuck.

OpenStudy (somy):

same here ;_;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know dat feel

OpenStudy (somy):

@Luigi0210 please? T_T

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

To get the value of y, you have to get y by itself, so: \(\ y=\frac{4}{22} \) which is \( y=\frac{2}{11} \). Make sense so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I understand that part.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Good, so now you have to approximate what 2/11.. do you know what the closet decimal to it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that 2/11 is like.18181818

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.18181818

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But that is no where near any of my answers. I'm confused as to what approximate means in this question.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Is that \(\Large y=log_{2} x\) or \(\Large y=log 2x \) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question shows it as log2x, but the graph shows that the base is actually the 2. So it is log_2 x. Even though the question shows it differently smh.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you give up on me?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

I'm at a loss, sorry :/ @perl any ideas?

OpenStudy (perl):

im reading :) you want to solve 22y = 4 , using the log graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay. I'm in the same boat lol. My lesson didn't teach me this, and there are like 4 of these on the practice test I'm taking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what the question is asking to be honest. I gave all the options for answers above, I have no idea what to do. I wasn't taught this at all in my lessons.

OpenStudy (perl):

none of your answers match the question though can you upload the actual question itself?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I will screenshot it for you.

OpenStudy (perl):

ok :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (perl):

ok i see it

OpenStudy (perl):

do you see that none of the answers match the question 22(2) = 44, not 4, and the rest don't match

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess they made a mistake. I have another if you would like to see it. It is a similar question that I don't know how to do.

OpenStudy (perl):

i know whats going on, that 2 is raised to the power of y

OpenStudy (perl):

the equation should be 2^y = 4
