OpenStudy (yolo_king):

How do you write an equation of a line so that it is parallel or perpendicular to a given point and a given line?

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

I just need an explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The perpendicular of any line uses the negative inverse of its slope or the m in y = mx + b. They have given you a line, and if you substitute x in the equation, you will notice that y doesn't work out to be on the line. The y intercept will be wrong, so you have to drop it and solve for it with the given points. What you need to do is to use the slope and just calculate it for the point given to get your y-intercept (b).

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

Thanks so much man.

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

Could you help with two more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry I was expelled shure I can help. @YOLO_KING if you still need it

OpenStudy (yolo_king):

I'm good thanks!
