need help!

OpenStudy (idealist10):

What's the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multply everything by 20 to get rid of the annoying fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I kinda have a little trouble with that, not by multiplying but by doing fractions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start with \[4(2x-15)=12x+85\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[20\times \frac{1}{5}(2x-15)\] 5 goes in to 20 4 times, giving \[4(2x-15)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[20\times \frac{3}{5}x\] 5 goes in to 20 4 times giving \[12x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for helping me i really appreciate it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[20\times \frac{17}{4}\] 4 goes in to 20 5 times givien \(85\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

notice we have to turn the mixed number in to an improper fraction in order to multiply easily

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See im from brasil and i moved to america couple months ago and im going to school here so i dont know much things yet here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once you have \[4(2x-15)=12x+85\] it should be easier to solve
