Python Syntax 8 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm just starting out in Python and have found a lot of good places to start. But some say start with Python2 and others say Python3. Which one should I focus on just starting out and why?

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

Whichever one you have better places to start with. Python 3 is a large change from Python 2. Programs need to be adapted when going from 2 to 3. The main thing is that you're using materials for the version of Python that you're using.

If your a beginner programmer I would recommend starting with the regular python version. Any other updated versions might not be necessary for you yet because they might have been develop for specific reasons. If your looking to just learn a program python itself is very friendly to new users to use.

Though many courses are tailored for Python2, I have both Python versions installed and have been using the Python3 interpreter just to find out the syntax differences when I try the exercises. Python2 will be supported until 2020 if that makes any differences.
