7th grade grammar help medal and fan Is the example a complete sentence, sentence fragment, or run-on sentence? Heather was the star of the show. A. complete sentence B. run-on sentence C. sentence fragment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, that wouldn't technically be called a run-on sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A run-on sentence is like: I went with John and Katie and Joseph to the park and we had so much fun and we had a picnic. Something like that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A sentence fragment is just part of the sentence but not the complete sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Chased the mouse". It wasn't the complete sentence. It does not say who/what chased the mouse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you going to reconsider your answer choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Er.. No..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's not a whole bunch of and's in the sentence. Well, there isn't even an and in there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be a complete sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It isn't c. Yes, I said no.

OpenStudy (inowalst):

A. complete sentence - The name says it. It's complete and isn't missing anything. B. run-on sentence - A sentence that keeps going.. Instead it should be separated into two sentences. C. sentence fragment - It means that there's something wrong with the sentence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is c

OpenStudy (inowalst):

No.

OpenStudy (inowalst):

If you read the sentence, is it wrong? When you read it, is it missing something? Or does it keep going?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (inowalst):

No. It's a complete sentence. When you read it, its not missing anything. Heather was the star of the show.

OpenStudy (inowalst):

If it were, Star of the show, then it would be an incomplete sentence.. If it were, Heather was the star of the show and she didn't want anyone else to be the star of the show, then that would be a run-on sentence.

OpenStudy (hannaha):

Yep complete sentence. A good way to tell is whether the sentence makes sense by itself. Or if the sentence goes on to different subjects without any breaks.
