More than 1 million Americans lived in "shanty towns" or "Hoovervilles" in the 1930s because: A. They really liked President Hoover and wanted to have houses like him B. They liked the styling of the “shanties” and they were easy to afford C. They had no money to buy “real” homes and land D. They wanted to live in the wild and be free

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think this had to do with the Great Depression

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tihnk it's C or B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D and A Seem to good to be true, and D is just crazy...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know about B I'm leading more close to B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Everything thing else seems absurd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1930s were the time of the Great depression that's why I'm confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The great depression didn't end until late 1930s really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the Great Depression involves them not having enough mony to live in real houses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly, C also states they have no money

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. They had no money to buy “real” homes and land

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But B could be the answer, but it states that they would "like" to live in shanty homes......I am just confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's why I think its C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you said you were leaning towards B :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you honestly think they liked those houses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
