What formula is used in this graph. x|0|1|2|3|4|5 ------------ y|10|9.5|9|8.5|8|7.5 Thanks!

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

Does this have something to do slope?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

@chandowd u there? :3

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

Lemme kno when u r back :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe so not sure though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Godlovesme ?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

So do i.. Okay so do u see a pattern? Like the x is increasing by 1 every time

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

Sorry lag :/ @chandowd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All good! :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right x is increasing by 1 and y is decreasing by 1/2

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

xD so do u see the pattern in Y? :)

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

Food job :D so any guess on what the slope will be?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

Good***** ;o

OpenStudy (gelow):

i believe it is - 0.5 @chandowd

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

they want you to write an equation that goes with the data presented clearly we have a line here since the rate of change in otherwise slope is constant so just use you usual means to find the slope and then use one point of those to write the equation

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

the slope \[m=\frac{9.5-10}{1-0}=-\frac{1}{2}\] then use the point slope formula \[y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\]
