OpenStudy (aum):

What is choice D? Can you provide a link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D. is 0.{06} {infinity}

@aum

OpenStudy (aum):

Choice D is still not clear to me. Irrational number means the number cannot be put in the form m / n where m and n are integers. A. 1/6. It is already put in the form m / n and so this is rational. C. sqrt(49) = +7 or -7 which is a rational number.

OpenStudy (aum):

B. sqrt(17). This cannot be put in the form integer / integer because 17 is not a perfect square. D. 0.06 (It is zero point zero six. Not infinity!) 0.06 = 6 / 100. So 0.06 can be put in the form integer / integer. So this is rational. So B is your answer.

Thank-you for the explanation @aum. It really made me understand better.

OpenStudy (aum):

You are welcome.
