Which quadrilaterals have two pairs of opposite sides that are parallel and have no right angles? Choose all answers that are correct. A. parallelogram B. rhombus C. trapezoid D. rectangle

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

medal n fan

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

This question cannot be answered.

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

y not

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral that has 2 pairs of opposite sides parallel. There is nothing in the definition of parallelogram about angles. A parallelogram may or may not have right angles.

Parallelogram and trapezoid

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

A rhombus is a parallelogram with 4 congruent sides. Also, there is nothing in the definition of a rhombus about angles. It may or may not have right angles.

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

and don't go to any thing else

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

A rectangle is a parallelogram with 4 right angles. A trapezoid has exactly one pair of opposite sides parallel.

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

hey @teetee4455 can you click on the link I put up please

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@AnneB A trapezoid has only one pair of opposite sides parallel.

@pooja195

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

please come @pooja195

pooja195 (pooja195):

It cant be answered

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

y not did you click on the link

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

@geny55 @pooja195 on the link up top

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@MikeyMaximum Let's eliminate what definitely cannot be. C. trapezoid D. rectangle A trapezoid has only one pair of parallel sides. A rectangle has righ angles.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

This leaves us with only two choices left: A. parallelogram B. rhombus The problem with this question is that both a parallelogram and a rhombus can have right angles or not have right angles. The best you can answer is that some parallelograms and some rhombuses do satisfy the question, whereas no rectangles and no trapezoids do.

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

don't get it

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The answer is A and B

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I think that A and B is the answer they are expecting, but I still don;t agree with the way the question is worded.
