Another question, please?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok cool
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Lauren spins the spinner 50 times. Which is the best estimate of the number of times she will land on the number 4?
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
I thought of dividing 50 by 4. The quotient was 12.5 so I rounded it it off to 13.
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Am I correct?

Sorry if it doesn't look too equivalent with the others.

1-4 ? how do you know ?
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
I have the sheet.
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
so it is given that spinner has numbers 1-4 ?
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Yes
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
but, if you are starting from 1 don't round up

But it's asking for you to find how many times it will land on 4.
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
For example, if I have 44 apples, and I want to distribute them to 9 friends.
I will be able to give 4 whole apples to each.
Don't round up to 5.
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Is it possible to have 12.5 times on 4?
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
it will go on 4, 12 times (12 cycles/circles), and then will hit 1, hit 2 and stop
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
One of my friend took the test. And she said that there was no option that had decimals in it.

so it is only hitting 4 12 times, not 13. (Just like in my proposed case with apples.)
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
I am saying to round it down, not to not round it at all
OpenStudy (perl):
i agree with your work
50 * 1/4 = 12.5 ~ 13 times
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
but you don't actually have 13
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Thank you

you only have 12 hits on 4, then it hits a 1 then hits a 2. THEN STOPS !
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
it is not hitting "4" 13 times, does it?
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
re-consider my case with apples, maybe
OpenStudy (solomonzelman):
am I sense-less /
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
I posted a new question @perl
