Confirming my sanity or lack thereof.. Is the function f(x,y) = cos(x) in 3D space considered a: Plane Hyperbaloid Parabaloid Cone Cylinder Sphere

For reference, I had this question on an online assignment. I said plane, the answer key said cylinder. I was very confused...

I suppose plane calling it a plane isn't quite correct because it isn't flat. I just couldn't see the surface as any of the other options

That's odd, the plot definitely doesn't look like a cylinder. To be honest, I wouldn't have said any of those are correct though I know just enough maths to be dangerous.

I just came to the realization that plotting the function in polar form and treating x as the angle from the y axis you can get a cylinder.... Cheers for the response though! I'm quite frustrated by their loose representations of coordinate systems
