PLEASE HELP!!!:( You are asked to draw a triangle with side lengths of 6 inches and 8 inches. What is the longest whole number length that your third side can be? A) 13 inches B) 14 inches C) 15 inches D) 16 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 3rd side can't be any more than to sum of the two sides. And it can't be any smaller than the difference of the two sides. That's because the two shorter sides always have to add up to more than the longest side :)

8+6 is 14 It can't be more than 14 8-6 is 2, and it can't be any less than 2 so what do you think ?

Triangle Inequality-No side of a triangle could be as long or longer than the lengths of the two other sides combined. Just remember that, and no problem :)
