Hello there! If I may join, I'd say this question is actually a bit tricky... :) The problem is imperative as such can't be used with all persons... More precisely, it's used: -- only with 2nd person (i.e. *tu* and *vosotros*) -- only with familiar forms (so not with *usted* or *ustedes*) So, when we give a command to the rest of persons, we use the subjunctive. (To make it easier, just remember *usted* [actually a 2nd person singular] is conjugated as *el/ella*, and *ustedes* [actually a 2nd person plural] is conjugated as *ellos/ellas*.) Example: COMMANDS forms for CANTAR [= "to sing"]: IMPERATIVE and SUBJUNCTIVE are used (tu) -- cant- a (el/ ella/ usted) -- cant- E (nosotros/ nosotras) -- cant- emos (vosotros/ vosotras) -- cant- ad (ellos/ ellas/ ustedes) -- cant- EN === So, @chrissy2430 , as shown above, the *ustedes* command of *pagar* (which is an infinitive ending in -AR verb, like *cantar*) is formed with an -EN ending. Hope this makes this subject clearer! :) Blessings P.S.: Sorry I'm not including accents, which I can't do from my computer.
