Mrs. Moser wanted to tile a different area of her kitchen that is 10 ft by 4 ft. The tiles come in sheets of 12 tiles, arranged in a rectangle that is 2 tiles wide by 6 tiles long. Because there is space on the sheet between the tiles for the grout, each tile with the spacing is equivalent to 2 in. by 2 in. (Grout is a paste-like substance that fills the gaps between tiles.) How many sheets would be needed to cover the 10 ft by 4 ft area? Show your work.

\[I~don't ~thats~ why ~a~ getting~ help\]
First you would need to know how what the area of the room is.
ok
10*4
Then you find the area of the tiles
then you divide the area of the tiles by the area of the room
40
yes, 40 is the area of the room. So 40/ by the area of the tiles
the "area" of the tiles is 12 * 2
0.6?
@k12andstudyislandhelp

grocery store sells peanuts in bulk foods. The price for 5 lb of peanuts is $8.00. Brian said, “The ratio of dollars to pounds of peanuts is 8:5. That is $1.60 per pound.” Carla said, “The ratio of pounds of peanuts to dollars is 5:8. That is 0.625 of a pound per dollar.” Who is correct? Explain your reasoning.

ok. So re-read the question. They were talking about ratios. And they want you to tell them which ratio is correct. And why.
\[am ~\not ~sure~ that's ~why ~am ~getting ~help\]
One of them is wrong. The two ratios are 8:5 or 5:8
