Umm have you read the book yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well how do you think the narrator feels about her current situation? (AKA their life)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think she's afraid of failure? Or proud of her independence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's okay :) I'm not so sure the narrator is really talking much about her proudness of her independence, but that's just my opinion. Anything else the author could've possibly made the umbrella represent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The white umbrella symbolizes the music teacher. The reason why the narrator threw it down the sewer is because on the way back home they had a car accident and her mom's eyes were close and she thought she was dead, and realizing this she threw it down the sewer
