OpenStudy (krazykricket):

I am thinking that this is B. >, If i'm wrong please correct me! :) Will give medal for right answer!

OpenStudy (krazykricket):

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

You're wrong... when you scale 2 figures, the angle measurements stay the same.

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Do you know what I mean when I say scale a figure?

OpenStudy (krazykricket):

No??

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

I think it would be C =, because the angles have the same measurment, just the shapes are different sizes (different scales)

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

When you change the size of a shape and they're SIMILAR, meaning, there's a common ratio between the side lengths, the angle measurements are kept the same.. does that make sense?

OpenStudy (krazykricket):

Yea, I think so.

OpenStudy (igreen):

If they're similar, the angles will be the same.

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Wait, nevermind.... the triangles aren't similar.

OpenStudy (krazykricket):

Their not?

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

if they were similar, line ED would be 9

OpenStudy (igreen):

Nope thy're not.

OpenStudy (igreen):

*they're

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

here i will just work it out to check xD

OpenStudy (igreen):

18 / 12 = 1.5 8 / 4 = 2

OpenStudy (welshfella):

look at the smaller triangle is it right angled? see if it fits the pythagoras theorem

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

@iGreen I almost wanna say that it cannot be determined

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Me too, but I want to be sure.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

If it fits pythagoras then <E + <F = 90 degrees

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

Pythagorean theorem does not work here :/ and we would need to know 2/3 angles to determine @BloomLocke367

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):

Okay. so @KrazyKricket , I'd go with it can't be determined.. there's no way to KNOW. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

@KrazyKricket ^^^^^

OpenStudy (welshfella):

you can use pythagors try squaring the hyopotenuse and the other 2 sides in the large triangle

OpenStudy (welshfella):

if the square on htpotenuse > sum of squares on the other 2 sides then the triangle is obtuse and <B + <C will be less than 90 degrees if it is less than <B + <C is greater than 90 degrees

OpenStudy (welshfella):

18^2 + 8^2 = 324 + 64 (2sqrt96^2 = 4 * 96
