Rewrite the expression by factoring out (x+4) 3x^2(x+4)-7(x+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sleepyhead314 can you help me with this?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

it was like the idea I showed you before ^_^ ab - ac = a (b - c) (3x^2)(x+4) - (7)(x+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^3+4-7+4x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sleepyhead314

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

not quite! for example, if I had 2x^2(x+5) - 9(x+5) I would get (x+5)(2x^2 - 9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+4)(3x^3-7)?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

so very very close!!! just x^2 not x^3 ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+4)(3x^2-7)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

PERFECT

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

*throws confetti*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now what? :)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

I think that's the answer ;P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it says factor out (X+4)?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yep ^_^ means to put the (x+4) in front (x+4)(3x^2-7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome :)
