I have to fill in the blanks of this chart, and I understand this math but this is very time consuming and I'm trying to get my assignments in. The picture is attached below, I would appreciate help more than anything, I have such a busy schedule.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty please help ^_^

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

"The picture is attached below" you forgot the pic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is the photo

@jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok, thank you

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and you weren't able to get started at all? or do you have some work done already?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, not really. I just opened this assignment and have been looking at it for awhile, it's honestly confusing me because my teachers didn't explain how to get this done @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it says "D, F, and E are colinear" what does "colinear" mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Points that are on the same line. @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct, so that means we know that angle DFE is a straight angle therefore, angle DFE = 180 degrees agreed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see. Yes, agreed @jim_thompson1590

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 *

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

a linear pair is where you have 2 angles such that a) they form a straight angle (ie they are supplementary) AND b) they are adjacent

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

angles 1 and 2 fit that description since they are supplementary and adjacent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I put <1 and <2 form a linear pair because they are supplementary and adjacent. Correct? And wow, thank you so much, you're helping me out a lot. @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yep that is correct

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

<1 is supplementary to <2 because we have a linear pair and because D,F,E are colinear. This is kinda redundant in my view and this line isn't really needed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay cool, so that gets the second box filled in. And how about the third and fourth one?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

why is <1 + <2 = 180 true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well. It looks like they're supplementary to each other and both of them add up to 180. @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

m< 1 + m< 2 = 180 simply by the definition of what supplementary means

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so yeah you have it correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Great! And what about m<1 + m<1 = 180°? @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what are your thoughts on that one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it's m<1 twice, then it would be 180°. But how would I explain that? @jim_thompson5910
