Sides of three square rooms measure 13 feet each, and sides of two square rooms measure 15 feet each. Which expression shows the total area of these five rooms? (3 × 13^2) + (2 × 15^2) (2 × 13^3) + (2 × 15^2) (3 × 15^2) + (2 × 13^2) (3 × 13^2) × (2 × 15^2)

OpenStudy (momo_loves_cte):

@sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

What would be the area of one room with sides of 13 feet?

OpenStudy (momo_loves_cte):

What?

OpenStudy (igreen):

SQUARE rooms \(A_{square} = a^2\) Where 'a' is the side lengthj.

OpenStudy (igreen):

*length

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

How would you find the area of 1 room with sides that measure 13 feet?

OpenStudy (momo_loves_cte):

guys i have no idea how do this

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

How do we find the area of a square?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You find the area of a square by multiplying lengthxwidth, correct? Well, if there are THREE rooms with 13 for the length of the sides, right? So we know it'll have '3x' in the answer. Now, take out B & C, no choose an answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[13^{2} = 13\times13.\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is the same of finding the area of a square, because all sides are equal. Can you tell me what you think the answer is @momo_loves_cte ??
