How do I add, simplify, and express this equation in standard form: (14 + 18i) + (10 - 3i)

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Have you combined like terms yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I just do that even if there are parenthesis?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Standard form is usually something like \(A+Bi \) where A and B are constants. There's nothing in front of the parenthesis so yea, there's just there to group.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

*they're just there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

So if you rearrange the expressions it should look something like \( (14+10)+(18i-3i) \) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

You're welcome, good luck :)
