OpenStudy (anonymous):

perimeter or area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one???

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

It would have to be area because the answers are in square inches.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what you to do is take apart the shape to make smaller shapes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seperate the big pieces into smaller pieces. Then multiply the smaller rectangles length*width. Then add all the multiplyed sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then what do you get? Hope this helped!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????/???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. I will show an equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the answer but we are not sapse to give direct aswers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1426176322210:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mult. the top and left side to get an area then subtract the spaces

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what I am trying to say but didnt know how to word it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still dont get it and what is the rule to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply it as if it was a rectangle then take the spaces, find out the sizes of those and then suptract

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why would you subtract

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1426165796066:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make the huge one with 12 into smaller rectasngle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so // and i have two now i have two with 6in on both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then multiply the bottom and side which is leght times width

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of eaqch rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cant i mulitiply them all and then divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont divide in polygons!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bohotness

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1426166217173:dw| do this
