can any one help me figure out these Questions 1) how are chromosomes related to the "particls" that are described by "Gregor Mendel"

Gregor Mendel was talking about some kind of unit or particle of inheritance. This is what he thought was being passed on from parent to offspring. However, he didn't know WHAT that particle was - but now we do. The particles he was referring to we now know as "genes", which are located on chromosomes. Genes refer to the most basic unit of heredity. Each gene codes for a specific protein, and you can inherit different "versions" of that protein from each parent depending on the specific genes they have. Chromosomes are composed of many different genes, and you inherit one of each chromosome from each parent to make you...you.
