The gene for a widow's peak is dominant. A child inherits genes with the genotype: Ww and Ww. What are the chances that he will have a widow's peak? 25% chance 50% chance 75% chance 100% chance
@brynncess2003
well if is dominant than what would happen if the child is heterozygous
um i think c?
oh... i dont know.... @godmod360

oh... i dont know.... @godmod360
well since the trait for widows peak is dominant if the uppercase W is at all present than widows peak will be expressed meaning the if the genotype was WW or Ww it would be expressed and show
the child inherited genotype Ww and Ww so doing the table shows one WW two Ww and one ww
what does this tell you? the question is saying that the widow trait is 'dominant'
..... 75%..... im sorry.... i get so confused with this stuff
thats what i think
yeah, i just dont get this stuff, yall are so smart compared to me
LOL
thats understandable bio can get genuinely confusing the important part id just ti try to understand as much as you can and in the end seek help if you need it.
im just gonna choose 75%
na we are not as smart, just keep studying & learning just know this when your trait is 'recessive' WW = will be not be effected because this feature is dominant Ww = will be not be effected but will be a carrier of gene (if its disease), thats because dominant trait is expressed over recessive trait. In other words, recessive trait is silenced by dominant trait ww = now this will be effected if your trait is 'dominant' WW = effected Ww = effected, in this case it is effected because the trait is dominant, which is why its expressed over recessive w ww = not effected note it down somewhere it helps a lot in these
thank you guys though
so yeah it is indeed gonna be 75%
yaya i was right!!
yyyaaayyyy!!! thank you!!!!!
ur welcome
yeah u were but @brynncess2003 can you please not give direct answers? its against CoC rules, so might get warning for that. Just explain how you do it & lead the questioner to correct conclusion, that will be a real help & will benefit them :)
oh yheah sorry!
its okay :D
