@KendrickLamar2014

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Is this correct?

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Primero voy al parque para pasar un rato con los amigos.

OpenStudy (korosh23):

@E>Nattie12345

OpenStudy (inowalst):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, if you are trying to say, "First I go to the park to hang out with my friends"

OpenStudy (korosh23):

@KendrickLamar2014 is it correct to say despues de voy a escribir mi tarea, yo voy a leer unos libros

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

The correct way is: Despues de escribir(or hacer) mi tarea, yo voy a leer unos libros

OpenStudy (korosh23):

But why we do not change the escribir to escribo

OpenStudy (korosh23):

?

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Escribir ~ Write Escribo ~ I Write

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

In this case, escribir is correct and not escribo

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

You can use Escribo like this: Que Escribo? ~ What do I write?

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Oh ok that makes sense

OpenStudy (korosh23):

So in that sentence it meant after writing ...

OpenStudy (korosh23):

It is something that you have not done yet and you are going to do it in the future. Therefore, we use escribo. Is my explanation correct?

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

What are you reffering to Escribir or Escribo??

OpenStudy (korosh23):

I have to go now, when I come back, I read your response.

OpenStudy (alfonso-o):

Hello there, everybody! If I may join in... @korosh23 , the thing is *Despues de* requires a verb in the infinitive form after it (i.e., ending in *-ar*, *-er* or *-ir*). So we say: *Despues de escribir*, or *Despues de hacer* (as @KendrickLamar2014 suggested) You know that you're referring to the future (and also that the subject is *yo*) because of what comes later in the sentence: Despues de hacer mi tarea, VOY A LEER UNOS LIBROS. *voy* --> this shows *yo* is the subject (so *yo* can be left out) *voy a leer* --> this shows the whole sentence is about the future Hope this helps! Blessings P.S.: Actually, an alternative to *Despues de* + infinitive is *Despues de que [yo] haga* (i.e., using a subjunctive form). But this option is perhaps more difficult.

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Thank you for your information @Alfonso-O
