OpenStudy (loser66):

what x on top mean? what are we supposed to do? find s?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry the x is a typo! But yes, find s.

OpenStudy (loser66):

just divide both sides by \(\sqrt2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's that easy? Wow. I thought I had to square both sides, then divide by 2 but ok, god thank you so much you have no idea how much you've helped! I really appreciate it thanks so much! :)

OpenStudy (loser66):

ok

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

"I thought I had to square both sides, then divide by 2" You can do that, but you have to remember to take the square root of both sides to fully isolate s. In this case, s is positive. So either way, you'll get the same answer.

Ohh, ok I was just really confused but ok, I'll keep that in mind! :) Thank you as well! :)
