Which verb agrees with its subject? There is nothing I __________ more than being with my closest friends. A. is enjoying B. enjoy C. has enjoyed D. enjoys
@EclipsedStar
So the subject is "I" correct? And it is singular, so the verb has to be singular as well...any ideas?
Any ideas so far?
d
No, that is plural.
close not "enjoys" but...
Close. ;)
I enjoy (1st person sing.), but a person enjoys (3rd person sing.).
so enjoys is for 3rd person singular...but we need first person singular to go with "I".
;)
okay if its dd it wont be c rihjy?
It definitely is not C. I enjoy (1st person sing.)
Does this make sense?
yes
so what is your final answer?
i would say if its not c or d or b i would say a
A is wrong.
so its b thats right but that makes no sense?
B is correct.
There is nothing I enjoy more than being with my closest friends.
thank you :D
"I" is first person singular. So you MUST use "enjoy" because that goes with first person singular subjects. If it was a third person singular subject like "he" then you would have had to use "enjoys" because that goes with third person singular subjects.
^ Nicely explained. :)
