MEDAL!!! How do you convert a decimal to a fraction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Decimal to Fraction For another example, convert 0.625 to a fraction. Multiply 0.625/1 by 1000/1000 to get 625/1000. Reducing we get 5/8.

^ copy paste lol

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

@kittenlover731 Do you know that \(\sf\Large x = \frac{x}{1}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you determine how many zeros your supposed to use?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

So basically you can multiply \(\sf\Large \frac{x}{1} \times \frac{y}{y}\) and get a fraction.

#Bossing @TheSmartOne

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

If you get 000000000000000000000000\(\bf .\)123 that basically is .123

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

If you have \(\bf.\)123000000000000000000000000 that is basically .123

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

So let's say we have .25 We can make \(\sf\Large .25 = \frac{.25}{1}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, like if you have 0.56 would you multiply it by 100/100? or if you had just 0.04 would you multiply it by 10/10?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Well you see we have two deimal spots. .04 12 So we still have to multiply it by 100
