"The Progressive Era: Teddy Roosevelt and Trust-Busting"
It's A... I got this straight from my lesson Trusts. Progressive reformers wanted the regulation of big business and trusts. Roosevelt believed there were good trusts and bad trusts. He sought to destroy what he believed were the bad trusts, or those that harmed the public. Congress had passed the Sherman Antitrust Act in 1890 to regulate the growth of trusts. The law, however, was not enforced. Roosevelt took action and used the law to go after major trust companies—such as Chicago's Beef Trust, the Standard Oil Company, the American Tobacco Company, and the Northern Securities Company—to break up their monopolies.
