OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
OpenStudy (triciaal):
what do you need to do to move from point A to point A'
hint you are on the same Y level only the X value has changed
OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
Hmm I thought it was B am i wrong?
OpenStudy (triciaal):
to go from B to B' what do you need to do?

wait what??
OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
woah woah woah i mean x and y
OpenStudy (triciaal):
I think the question wants to know what function will apply to both situations
OpenStudy (triciaal):
option 1 actually works for both situations
OpenStudy (triciaal):
first we agree that the value for y remains the same

x + 7 to move A to A' only
x + 3 to move B to B' only
OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
Hm ok i get what your saying
OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
Can we try this one if your not too busy?
OpenStudy (triciaal):
other approach
use the coordinates
A(-4. -2) go to (3,-2)
look at the x values x goes to -x then -1
-4 goes to -(-4) then -1
apply this to the Bs
B (-2, 2) goes to -(-2) then -1
the Y values remain the same
so the function of transformation is (x,y) goes to (-x -1, y)

y went down 4
OpenStudy (here_to_help15):
Oh ok
OpenStudy (triciaal):
x reflected across the y axis
x-value now -x value
notice D on the opposite side?
OpenStudy (triciaal):
B = 0 so still on the 0-line
OpenStudy (triciaal):
hope that helped have to go

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):
so no it is (x, y) => (x+3, y) and (x, y) => (x+7, y)
