@pooja can you help
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
I can
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3.74 x 10^-18
am damn sure.
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
no direct answers @srinuscooby it's against the code of conduct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thanksbloomlocke367 its been dead on here for a while..

okay, just to be clear... it's\[(5.2\times 10^{13})(7.1\times 10^{-22})\] right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes that's correct
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
okay, hang on... what I'm doing isn't giving me the correct answer... so I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong so I can help you
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
okay... you first have to multiply the coefficients (5.2 and 7.1)

ok 36.92 is what I got
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
yup XD that's the first part.. then you multiply the other part (you'd have to add the exponents)
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
@Danny.Mcintire7
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Problem solved ?
or should I send the full procedure @BloomLocke367
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
what do you mean?..

U were the one who said "No direct answers"
I thought you might have finished the answer hence :)
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
Oh.. I'm waiting for @Danny.Mcintire7 to respond to give him the final step
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im confused on the last step you were talking about?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is it 10^33
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I mean 10^35

okay... you have \(10^{13}\) and \(10^{-22}\) that you have to multiply... but to multiply exponents you have to add them
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
what's 13-22?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
10^9
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
no... it's -9... because it's 13-22, not 22-13
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh ok my bad

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
okay... so far you have \(36.92 * 10^{-9}\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
but that's not scientific notation yet.. because there should only be one digit on each side of the decimal.
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
do you know how to change it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no im not sure

OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
you just need to move the decimal over and change the exponent to correspond to it..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im confused I don't know how to do that or what it would look like?
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
|dw:1426632162797:dw|
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
and you can keep it like that...
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
do you understand now?

oh ok
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
do you understand now?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do I need to keep moving it over or not?
OpenStudy (bloomlocke367):
nope. as long as there is only ONE number to the left of the decimal.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok awesome thanks you!:]
