Solve x - (-9) = -14. -23 23 -5 5
Two negatives equals a positive. x + 9 = -14 Subtract 9 to both sides, what do you get? @elik1329
5
Check again
its supposed to be 23
yep
@iGreen isn't that when you multiply?!?!?!?
(-)(-)=(+)???
That's wrong..

Plus, it's incorrect.
@Chiko_1278 What do you mean?
ok you are telling @elik1329 to subtract right????..............and you are saying that two negatives will give you a positive..............thats right but heres my point .............you only get a positive when you multiply....not subtract.....please correct me if im wrong. |dw:1426693201770:dw|
The two negative become a positive, giving us: x + 9 = -14 Now we subtract 9 to both sides, because 9 is being added and we have to do the opposite..
sorry @iGreen , thats my mistake
yeah..........you are right on that but...from what i have learned you only get a positive if you multiply or divide two negatives...............
No..it's the same with adding.. Go ahead and but in 2 - (-2) into Google..it will give you 4..the same as 2 + 2.
same with adding/subtracting
no is not the same because you are not subtracting two negative answers.
