rishavraj (rishavraj):
u know
\[\log_{x} a - \log_{x} b = \log_{x} (\frac{ a }{ b }) \]
OpenStudy (clamin):
okay ill try to solve it
OpenStudy (clamin):
my first stepp..is that riight??
rishavraj (rishavraj):
nah its not..... have a look u have put 2 as exponent of both numerator and denominator.....

oh okay
OpenStudy (clamin):
what do i have to do after? im stuck
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
\(\bf log{\color{brown}{ (x+5)^2 }}-log(x+5)=log(2)\implies log\left( \cfrac{\cancel{{\color{brown}{ (x+5)^2 }}}}{\cancel{(x+5)}} \right)=log(2)\)
rishavraj (rishavraj):
u will have
\[\log_{10} \frac{ (x + 5)^{2} }{ x + 5 } = \log_{10} 2 \]
\[\log_{10} (x + 5) = \log_{10} \]
rishavraj (rishavraj):
its
\[\log (x + 5) = \log 2\]

@rishavraj where did you got \[ \log_{10} \]
rishavraj (rishavraj):
forget it.....
rishavraj (rishavraj):
its clearly hmm log (x + 5) = log 2
OpenStudy (clamin):
@jdoe0001 is my final answer \[\log_{2} \]?
rishavraj (rishavraj):
no
u know
\[\log_{x} a = y \]
so \[a = x ^{y}\]

well... so.... where are you at thus far?
OpenStudy (clamin):
the one that you wrote @jdoe0001
OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
\(\bf \bf log{\color{brown}{ (x+5)^2 }}-log(x+5)=log(2)\implies log\left( \cfrac{\cancel{{\color{brown}{ (x+5)^2 }}}}{\cancel{(x+5)}} \right)=log(2)
\\ \quad \\
log(x+5)=log(2)\implies x+5=2\implies x=?\)
OpenStudy (clamin):
3 @jdoe0001
rishavraj (rishavraj):
@clamin done???

3? recheck
rishavraj (rishavraj):
nah u r wrong...
OpenStudy (clamin):
im stuck
rishavraj (rishavraj):
x + 5 = 2
subtract 5 on both sides
OpenStudy (clamin):
i got 3 because i subtract 5 and 2

once both equations are based on log() terms
then we can UNlog them
and then we end up with x+5 = 2
so... that'd be simple enough I'd think
rishavraj (rishavraj):
x + 5 = 2
x = 2 - 5
????
OpenStudy (clamin):
\[-\frac{ 2 }{ 5 }\]
rishavraj (rishavraj):
hmm ???? u need to subtract
x + 5 = 2
x = 2 - 5
??????why u dividing????
OpenStudy (clamin):
oops my bad its... -3
