Which senses does this image appeal to best? “Finally, they sat in a dry silence as they ate evening meals of soft scrambled eggs, melba toast, and weak tea.”

@XjackskellingtonX what do you think? remember, see, hear, taste, smell, feel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

taste and touch?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why touch? (and taste is right)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says soft so I figure touch.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what is soft?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the eggs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right. are you gonna be "feeling" the eggs (other than in your mouth)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is It touch and sound? because of the dry silence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its probably taste, and maybe sound

OpenStudy (anonymous):

although a dry silence doesn't really "appeal" to any of your senses...

Actually, you could apply hearing, tasting, and feeling in this. Just because you feel something with your tongue, doesn't mean it doesn't count as the feeling of touch. After all, you can touch things with your tongue. Just because you don't hear anything, doesn't mean the sense of hearing isn't involved. They specifically said "dry silence", referring to hearing nothing. You need hearing to be able to differ from hearing nothing to something.
