Marcus spent 10 hours doing his homework last week. This week he spent 11 hours doing homework. He says that he spent 110% more time doing homework this week. Is he correct? Show your work to justify your decision.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Can u guys Explain how please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 x 1.1 =11 so i thnk its true that he spent 110% 10 is for the hours doing his homework last week. 1.1 is the percent

OpenStudy (amistre64):

percent of change is calculated as the difference between the start and the end, divided by the start the percent of change in the work done is therefore: (11-10)/10 not 11/10

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

So @amistre64. Is that the correct answer u gave me

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i gave you information that should allow you to reach a good conclusion. i didnt give you an answer perse.

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Can h direct me to the answer please

OpenStudy (amistre64):

say i work for an hour, in order to work 100% more of the time, i would have to work for at 2 hours, why? (2-1)/1 = 1.00

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is (11-10)/10 ?

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

10

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(11-10)/10 = 1/10 = .10 what is .10 a a percentage?

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

110%

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@amistre64. Can u jus tell me the answe and explain HOW AND WHY you got that answe PLEASE?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is correct its 110% tht all they are asking for

OpenStudy (amistre64):

not really. we are not here to just give you your answers for you. this is a study group that is meant to help you learn how to work things out for yourself by guiding you along the way.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you should be able to determine what .10 is as a percentage at the moment. and then determine of it corresponds to the information tha tthe problem is asking for

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Ok but can you jus do it this one time cause if i get this last QUESTION. Wrong i will fail my grade and get whiped by my mom n dad so ease

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no, still cant bend the rules or our ethics. this is still a study group and you will still have to participate a little better.
