what type of figurative language is "the soft, unbroken snow seemed to advertise solidity beneath." ???????? HELP
I would totally say Alliteration. Alliteration is a types of figurative language that employs the repetition of a sound or first letter. Like She sells seashells by the seashore. Your passage has a repetition of the s letter like this with the word (S)oft, unbroken (S)now (S)eemed to advertise (S)olidity. The other types of figurative language couldn't be applied to this passage, like metaphors (a comparison between two things without using like or as), similes (a comparison between two thing WITH using like or as), onomatopoeia (words that describe a sound example: BAM,crunch) hyperbole (an exaggeration, example: I am so hungry I could eat a cow), and cliche (An overused expression, example: You are as slow as a snail...that could also be an example for a simile notice how I compared you to a snail)
THere isnt much alliteration though, so I don't think I would necessarily put that. I would say it just contains imagery.
