Ok, so the area formula for this is \[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }(a +b)\times h\]A and B are the parallel sides and H is the height. http://prntscr.com/6lyws8 The purple lines are the parallel sides. Can you substitute the numbers in?

What do you mean by substitute?

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Ok, so I said that a and b are the parallel sides. I gave you a picture of the parallel sides. What I mean by substitute is just put in the values for a and b into the problem. LIke this. \[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }(a +b)\times h\]Makes\[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }(9.5+13.5)\times H\]You'll do the same for H, or height.
