A scatter plot is made to model the number of calories in different portions of fish sticks. The data used for the scatter plot are shown in the table below: Number of portions 5 3 8 6 1 4 Number of calories 250 150 400 300 50 200 What does the slope of the model represent? The number of calories in each portion of fish sticks The number of fish sticks in each portion The original number of portions of fish sticks The price of each portion of fish sticks

i think its B

OpenStudy (phi):

do they show the scatter plot ? what are the labels on the x-axis and on the y-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats all the information i have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thinks its A or B

OpenStudy (phi):

we need to know which is the "x" and which is the y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well i think number of portions is the x and the calories is y

OpenStudy (phi):

ok, we (should!) know that slope is change in y divided by change in x so we expect slope to match up with calories per portion (i.e y/x) , right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (phi):

which answer sounds like calories per portion ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But can you help me with two more questions on my study guide i would greatly appreciate it.

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, choice A (if we simplify all the words) boils down to calories per each portion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks!
