OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

What are the zeros of the polynomial function f(x) = x^3 + x^2 - 20x?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@phi 0, -5, -4 right?

OpenStudy (phi):

I would factor out an x x ( x^2 +x -20) then factor the quadratic x ( x+5) (x-4) that has zeros at x=0, -5 and 4

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Ohh ok thanks for explaining that!

OpenStudy (phi):

or you could try each choice in the original equation to see if you get 0
