trying to help my son through online school, can't figure out how to explain rate of change on a graph so that he understands it...can anyone help me?
Well the rate of change is just another phrase for slope.
rise/run
\[\left(\begin{matrix}y _{2}-y _{1} \\ x _{2}-x _{1}\end{matrix}\right)\]
|dw:1427483338592:dw|
what online school does your son go to
so how do i graph out a rise/run from one of those stupid x[y boxes with the numbers on them? do i have to graph out the whole thing then compare the lines?
you have 2 differnt points and subtract the first from the second
@princess1990 add up 60 and 50 (which is angle 2 & 3)
ok i got it now. he is in connections academy, was bullied at public and disabled, so this was better choice. just very hard for me having been out of school for over 20 years now...
@princess1990 what does that attachment have to do with anything?
is your son grant
i go to connections to
nope, marcus
oh what grade is he in
i am a 7th grader
attachment doesn't help with graphs, thats angles, know that one
8th
oh does he have mrs wonchoba
if you are in connections use the desmos graphing calculator and put in the equations and figure it out
mrs johnson and mrs Nishinaka
that helps me but doesn't help me explain it to him
rise over run and showing the graph should work. thank you everyone who helped!
