can someone check my answer?
ill try if i know how to do it
yup...thts correct
r u sure?
sorry ....it would be \[\pi r + 2r\] mt bad..:((
*my
3.14 * r + 2 r huh?
@jim_thompson5910
im now confused but thanks
Perimeter of a semi circle: \(P = \dfrac{1}{2}\pi d\)
So if the radius is given, just double it.
\[d=2r\]
\[P = =\dfrac{1}{2}\pi (2r)\]
huh so its 12
An alternative definition of a semicircle is that it is simply an arc - a curved line that is half the circumference of a circle, without the straight line linking its ends.
so what do i multiply?
do u hav a given figure???
what do u mean?
is it 12? i dont know how to round it
to solve your question think of it like this: Step 1: Find the circumference of the full circle using C = pi*d [ note: pi = 3.14 and your d= radius * 2 = 6*2 = ?] Step 2: Divide the circumference in half (since we are working with a semi-circle) [note: this is the length of the curvy part of the semi-circle] Step 3 : Add the diameter (Since we've found the curvy part, we need to add the diameter to get the FULL circumference of the semi circle)
see its not mentioned whether its closed semicircle or open semicircle..... so u gotta consider it open......so u r correct....
it says approximate in hundreths
approximate in hundredths means to round off to 2 decimal places
i dont even know
it depends if the question is asking for the full perimeter of the semi circle or just the perimeter of the curvy side... i'd say that the question is asking for the FULL perimeter meaning since you found that the area of the curvy side = 18.84 We have to add the diameter = radius * 2 = 6*2 = 12. So add the curvy side + the diameter = full perimeter of a semi circle.
@butterflydreamer hey its not mentioned whether its open or closed....so whts the need of just adding the diameter....
18.84 +12?
hmm this question isn't very clear.. it does say perimeter though.. and perimeter is the full outline of a shape..? So it would be closed would it not? O_O
no if its not mentioned then we gotta consider it open....so no need to add diameter....
i dont really know it says approximate the perimeter of a semi circle
really? :O @rishavraj Well in that case, we won't add the diameter then. If we don't add the diameter than 18.84 will be your final answer to the nearest hundreth .
well thank u all of u im posting more to be checked but they are complicated
