Find an equation for the nth term of the sequence. (1 point) -3, -12, -48, -192, ... an = 4 • -3n + 1 an = -3 • 4n - 1 an = -3 • 4n an = 4 • -3n

sammixboo (sammixboo):

This is confusing with the spaces in between the numbers. Can you post a screenshot of your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sammixboo what spaces, that's exactly how the question looks

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Are you multiplying the numbers or what? Super hard to tell with nothing there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure actually, we must be but even on the actual assignment there isn't anything between them. We can just treat it as if we were multiplying them

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

find the common factor

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Huh that is weird and just, not acceptable? Ok, but we are going to multiply then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 4th answer? @nincompoop

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

how so?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

I was wondering as well, because the parenthesis around the n in an is missing. It should be a(n) correct @nincompoop

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright thank you

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

\(\large a_n = -3 \times 4^{n - 1} \)
