Mark earned $13.50 mowing lawns on Saturday. On Sunday, he spent $6.95 when he purchased a movie ticket. He needed to borrow money from a friend to complete his purchase of a snack. How much money did Mark pay for the snack if he owes his friend $5? $1.95 $6.55 $8.50 $11.55

@amistre64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the answer is $11.55 because his money had after he spent for a movie ticket is 6.55$ -> money paid for the snack : 6.55$ + money he owed his friends = 6.55+5=11.5$

OpenStudy (amistre64):

13.50 - ticket +5 is the most he could pay for the snack

OpenStudy (amistre64):

18.50 -6.95 ----- 11.55

OpenStudy (amistre64):

he could have paid 8.50 but owes his friend 5 still

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but yeah, most likely the correct choice will be 11.55

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

So @amistre64. Its D

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i would pick D yes, but that is under the assumption that the whole 5 was needed to pay for the snack.

@amistre64. Can you help me with a couple more please
